Why We Built ProductBoost

July 19, 2026

Every time I needed to find a new software product, the process looked the same.

Open Google.

Search for "best project management tools."

Open ten tabs.

Read a few listicles, compare pricing pages, skim Reddit discussions, check YouTube reviews, and eventually end up more confused than when I started.

There wasn't a lack of products.

There was a lack of clarity.

The more software that gets built, the harder it becomes to discover the right one.

Discovery Is Becoming the Hardest Problem

We're living in one of the most exciting periods in software history.

Every day, founders launch new SaaS products. Developers release open-source tools. AI startups introduce new models. Indie hackers ship products over the weekend.

Innovation isn't slowing down.

But discovery hasn't kept pace.

Great products often remain invisible simply because people don't know they exist, while well-funded products dominate search results and advertising.

As users, we don't want the loudest product.

We want the right product.

It Started with AI

Before ProductBoost, we built AI Tool Boost.

The goal was simple: make it easier to discover, compare, and evaluate AI tools without jumping between dozens of websites.

As we worked on that platform, something became obvious.

The discovery problem wasn't unique to AI.

Whether you're searching for a design tool, CRM, API platform, developer framework, productivity app, or analytics solution, you're still facing the same challenge:

How do I find the best product for my needs?

That question inspired something much bigger.

Looking Beyond AI

AI is only one part of the software ecosystem.

Millions of professionals evaluate software every day.

Developers search for APIs.

Startups look for infrastructure.

Designers compare creative tools.

Marketing teams evaluate automation platforms.

Businesses switch CRMs, help desks, analytics platforms, and communication software.

Yet there isn't a single place designed to make all of those discovery journeys simple, transparent, and useful.

That's the long-term vision behind ProductBoost.

What We're Building

We're not trying to become another directory with thousands of pages that nobody trusts.

Instead, we want to build a platform that helps people answer questions like:

  • Which product is best for my use case?
  • What are the strongest alternatives?
  • How do these products compare?
  • Which newer products are worth paying attention to?
  • What features actually matter?

Over time, we hope ProductBoost becomes a trusted starting point whenever someone is evaluating software.

Building in Public

ProductBoost is still in its early days.

There will be plenty of iterations, experiments, mistakes, and improvements along the way.

We'll be listening closely to founders, developers, product teams, and everyday users as we shape the platform.

Our goal isn't to build the biggest software directory.

It's to build one that people genuinely find useful.

The Road Ahead

Product discovery is changing.

AI is transforming how people search, software categories continue to expand, and buyers expect richer information before making decisions.

We believe discovery platforms need to evolve alongside those changes.

ProductBoost is our attempt to build for that future.

We're excited to see where the journey leads.

If you've found this page, thanks for stopping by.

We're just getting started.
